NÜRMONT engineers installed the first "MiraFlex" flexo-printing press from Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) in 2008. The 100th "MiraFlex" was sold two years later – also to be installed by Nürmont.
Nuremberg, Germany. NÜRMONT has been supplying and installing flexographic and gravure printing presses from printing press manufacturer W&H for over ten years now. The company’s engineers will be installing the 100th "MiraFlex" in Britain in May 2011.
W&H sold the first flexographic press "MiraFlex" to a customer from the UK at the world's leading printing trade fair drupa in 2008. This is when NÜRMONT started installing the new presses. From then onwards, NÜRMONT has installed many more of them all over the world and is about to put in the 100th machine in the "MiraFlex" series. Starting from Lengerich, the work begins by dismantling the machine at the manufacturer’s factory. Then at the installation site in the UK, NÜRMONT specialists will measure up the exact location for the new machine and finally, they will install it and have it ready for operation. Since the first "MiraFlex" was set up in the same hall, the installers are familiar with the local conditions. Impressed by the performance of the first machine both technically and economically, the operator had no doubt about opting for a "MiraFlex” again.
With the experienced NÜRMONT team, customers and machine manufacturers can be confident that the installation project is in good hands, and will be completed in the shortest possible time in close collaboration with the W&H commissioning staff.
The new machine is to be installed between two existing lines, which limits the space available, but gives the NÜRMONT staff what they consider an interesting challenge.
Suitable lifting equipment, such as mobile crane, forklift and scissor lift, is essential for assembling the large, heavy machine components. The printing machinery is also heavy, since the print unit itself weighs 20 tons and requires a mobile crane able to lift 80 tons. Just how demanding the job is can be seen by the height of the highest edge – 5.50 meters above the ground!
Along with relocation and the mechanical production of small and special parts, installation is a key component of the NÜRMONT portfolio. The Nuremberg company delivers, installs and commissions machinery and equipment – in-house – ready for operation – for manufacturers in all industrial sectors.
