| Nürmont – 20 years in
Freiberg – Nr. 1/2011 (29.4.2011)
The Nürmont site in Freiberg, Germany was founded in
the Spring of 1991
Freiberg. Nürmont founded the Saxon site from a Freiberg
electronic materials department on 1 April 20 years ago. In
addition to the know-how of the employees, the new owners
also acquired a high quality set of machinery from Nuremberg.
The aim was to manufacture in-house the spare parts necessary
for assembly and relocation or special designs. Through the
expertise offered at Freiberg, the portfolio has been constantly
expanded and is an indispensable factor in the Nürmont
range of services. In the last 20 years, the business has
continuously grown and developed into a high-turnover site.
One year after its foundation, the company moved into its
own company building "Am Junger Löwe Schacht 11",
which is now its headquarters. Five years later, more capacity
was needed. Once a 1000 m2 assembly hall, complete with cranes,
had been built on the Freiberg site and the machinery had
been purchased, Nürmont was in a position to cater for
a variety of different needs.
The company offers an extensive range of services on a total
area of 8000 m2. In addition to the manufacture of machine
parts and welded assemblies, Nürmont also offers services
in the industrial assembly and service area. Thus, more than
500 tonnes of material (steel, aluminium, brass and plastic)
are processed every year for machine parts, special machines,
and research and laboratory facilities.
Baumüller Group’s expertise in automation is utilised
for the mechanical and electrical modernisation of machinery
and entire plants. The surface finishing of stainless steels
completes the company’s service portfolio.
Today, around 45 staff are employed on the site. In addition
to the administrative and sales operations, there are technical
and commercial departments staffed by engineers, machinists,
industrial mechanics and welders.
At the end of May, the Executive Board will be inviting customers,
suppliers and employees to the premises in Freiberg for the
20th anniversary. The site manager in Freiberg, Volker Böhm,
Managing Director Jochen Loy and Company Secretary of Nürmont,
Klaus Preisser are looking forward to appearing at the event
with interesting discussions, musical entertainment and a
generous buffet.
